Help Shape World News Day 2025

World News Day is a global campaign led by the World Editors Forum of WAN-IFRA, Branko Brkic’s Project Kontinuum, and the Canadian Journalism Foundation. Its mission is simple but urgent: to unite newsrooms around the world on 28 September each year to demonstrate the power and value of journalism.

This campaign encourages editors to highlight how their journalism makes a real difference in people’s lives — especially for the audiences who rely on them most.

Each year, World News Day provides newsrooms with ready-to-use campaign materials, including social videos, digital and print ads, and op-eds to help amplify this message.

Since its launch in 2018, World News Day has grown steadily. In 2024, over 800 newsrooms participated across the globe.

Now, with the need ever greater, we’re aiming even higher for 2025 — and we need your help.

To be part of the campaign and receive materials and updates, please take a moment to share a few details below.

Together, we can show the world why journalism matters.
